What a record proves.

An explorer is only useful if its claims are precise. Every field on SKU Scan belongs to one of three tiers, and the page labels which.

Provenance tiers

Where each field comes from.

On-chain

Written to Base and independently verifiable by anyone, without trusting PORT66.

  • Contract address
  • Token ID
  • Metadata hash
  • Transaction hashes on ledger entries

An on-chain record proves that a claim was issued against a token — not that the physical item matches its description.

PORT66 record

PORT66's own bookkeeping, reported as-is. Accurate to what the merchant declared and PORT66 recorded.

  • Merchant identity and verification status
  • Physical and backed stock
  • Unit price in USDC
  • Inventory ledger entries
  • Product attributes, materials, images

Merchant verification means PORT66 checked the seller, not that a third party authenticated the item.

If SKU Scan cannot read a value, it says so. It does not infer, sample, or approximate.

What we say, and what we don't.

SKU Scan asserts: This SKU has a token on Base with the referenced contract and token ID.

SKU Scan asserts: PORT66 recorded this many physical units and this many backed units.

SKU Scan asserts: This merchant holds a verified merchant status on PORT66.

SKU Scan asserts: These inventory events were recorded, in this order, at these times.

SKU Scan does not assert: This item is authentic, or has been authenticated by a third party.

SKU Scan does not assert: A specific wallet currently owns a claim on this SKU.

SKU Scan does not assert: This item will be delivered within a stated timeframe.

Backed
Physical units reserved against issued on-chain claims.
Reserved
Stock set aside for tokenization but not yet minted.
Minted
An on-chain claim issued against backed stock.
Locked
A claim held pending a redemption request.
Burned
A claim destroyed when the physical item is fulfilled.
Reconciled
A ledger adjustment adding the DB and chain back into agreement.
Available
Backed units not yet purchased or locked.
